About

LaMBDa is the Research Data Portal of the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS).

LaMBDa is an acronym for Labour, Migration and Biographical Data – the major kinds of data collected by researchers at the IOS.

LaMBDa uses the da|ra registration agency in order to publish research data with an unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier).

Research Data Policy

LaMBDa implements the institutional research data policy in order to provide research data according to the FAIR principles.

The research data policy provides information about the research data management workflows for data quality control, metadata review and research data publication.

Metadata Schema

LaMBDa uses a metadata schema based on the Data Catalog Vocabulary (DCAT) and the DDI-RDF Discovery Vocabulary (Disco) to describe bibliographic as well as methodological aspects of research data. The metadata description includes also information about the provenance and project context of research data.

The DDI Controlled Vocabularies, JEL (Journal of Economic Literature Classification System) and GND Subject Headings are used for interdisciplinary knowledge organization.
